Cookie Policy
Last updated: 11 April 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Job Rovers uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit jobrovers.com and our related applications. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences — such as login state, language, and display settings — so you do not have to re-enter them each time you return or move between pages.
2. Types of cookies we use
Job Rovers uses the following categories of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies — required for the Platform to function. They include session cookies that keep you logged in, authentication cookies that protect your account, and cookies used to prevent fraud. Without these cookies the Platform cannot work.
- Preference cookies — remember choices such as your selected language and theme so your experience is consistent between visits.
- Analytics cookies — help us understand which pages are visited most, how long users stay, and where errors occur, so we can improve the Platform. Analytics data is aggregated and does not directly identify individual users.
We do not use advertising cookies and we do not allow third-party advertising networks to track Job Rovers users across the web.
3. Specific cookies we set
jr-theme— remembers your light or default theme preference.jobrovers-lang— stores your language choice (stored in localStorage).next-auth.session-token— keeps you signed in across pages (HttpOnly).next-auth.csrf-token— protects against cross-site request forgery during sign-in.
4. Third-party services
Certain features of the Platform rely on third-party services that may set their own cookies, including:
- Stripe — handles teacher subscription and boost payments. Stripe sets its own cookies to prevent fraud and complete transactions.
- Cloudinary — stores profile photos, videos, and document uploads. Cloudinary may set session cookies during upload.
- Sentry — records error events so we can fix bugs. Sentry uses a lightweight cookie to group related errors.
5. Managing cookies
Most browsers let you review, delete, or block cookies from settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent parts of the Platform from working — in particular you will not be able to log in or sign contracts. For analytics and preference cookies, blocking them will simply reset your preferences between visits.
Common browser cookie controls:
- Chrome → Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Safari → Preferences → Privacy.
- Firefox → Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge → Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
6. Do Not Track
Job Rovers respects the Do Not Track signal in your browser where technically feasible. Because there is no industry consensus on how to interpret this signal, we rely primarily on the cookie categories above rather than DNT headers.
7. Updates to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated through an in-product notice or email where possible.
